As a work from home FileMaker developer, you configure databases and create or customize applications and software to use in the FileMaker environment. You also test codes and scripts to ensure that they function correctly. Some FileMaker professionals perform administrator duties in addition to or instead of development responsibilities. In these roles, you provide support and training for employees who use FileMaker tools for work-related tasks and ensure that the databases and applications are secure.

The qualifications that you need to meet to get a remote FileMaker job typically include a degree, relevant experience, and certification. Employers prefer candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, information systems, or IT. However, some may accept sufficient experience in lieu of formal education.
