What Are Remote FileMaker Jobs?

Remote FileMaker jobs involve working with the cross-platform relational database application, FileMaker, which features a user interface and security features. As a work from home FileMaker developer, you configure databases and create or customize applications and software to use in the FileMaker environment. You also test codes and scripts to ensure that they function correctly. Some FileMaker professionals perform administrator duties in addition to or instead of development responsibilities. In these roles, you provide support and training for employees who use FileMaker tools for work-related tasks and ensure that the databases and applications are secure.

What Are the Qualifications to Get a Remote FileMaker Job?

The qualifications that you need to meet to get a remote FileMaker job typically include a degree, relevant experience, and certification. Employers prefer candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, information systems, or IT. However, some may accept sufficient experience in lieu of formal education. Since you work remotely, you need skills in coordinating with clients, other developers, and employees via project management or office communication software. You also must be able to multitask while working on multiple databases and be familiar with user testing and training. Although not required, you can also pursue professional certification in FileMaker Pro.
