What Is a Remote BI Developer and How to Become One

As a remote BI developer, you work from home or otherwise remotely to design and program software that supports a company's business intelligence needs. To accomplish this, you may use SQL to store and organize data, determine which types of analytics to use with your software, and ensure your software can create each type of report your client asks for. Remote BI developers frequently create complex SQL queries that pull data from multiple sources, translate user requirements into programming objectives, and coordinate with database and infrastructure teams. You may also help create tools to store data, conduct testing, update existing software, and help assess future business intelligence needs.

The preferred qualifications to become a remote BI developer include a bachelor's degree and several years of experience programming with SQL and complex data.
