As a Pyxis administrator, you are the team leader for the automated medication distribution system, and your responsibilities and duties revolve around maintaining the controlled substance inventory and monitoring usage. Materials coordinators use Pyxis to carry out warehousing and supply functions for their facilities, while technicians handle medication dosing and distribution under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Qualifications for administrator positions include graduation from an accredited training program and two to three years’ experience in a hospital setting.
