A plus size model works in the fashion industry, modeling plus-size clothing. As a plus size model, you participate in photoshoots for print advertisements or catalogs, do runway fashion shows, work with designers as a fit model, or TV work. Your duties depend on whether you perform one of those specific roles or whether you work in multiple fields. Responsibilities include preparing for shoots or shows, working with stylists and other fashion experts to present the looks set out by the creative director or designer, and traveling for work.

There are few formal qualifications to become a plus size model. The most important quality is a figure outside the traditional size of runway models.
