As a part-time proctor, you supervise the exam process at an educational institution or test facility. As a part-time employee, you work less than 40 hours per week. You can work at a high school, college, or testing facility for certifications or licenses. During each test, you monitor the students and ensure that they follow all rules and requirements. Your duties include preparing the testing room before the exam starts. You verify students’ identities and ensure that they complete any required documentation. Other responsibilities include making sure that students do not cheat or use banned devices during the test.

The qualifications to get a job as a part-time proctor include at least a high school diploma, although some licensing centers require proctors to have a bachelor's degree. You also need communication and management skills to supervise students during the exam process. It’s important that you are dependable and punctual. Some colleges prefer to hire part-time proctors who are current undergraduate or graduate students. You typically receive training in the rules and regulations for exams in the school or testing center where you work.
