You also work with clients to develop web software and applications that use JavaScript. You may work as part of a larger team, or you may work as a freelance contract worker. To get a job as a part-time JavaScript developer, you need to have several qualifications, including a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, a strong grasp of how to code in JavaScript, and knowledge of other web languages, such as HTML and CSS. There are certifications available in most programming languages, and while these are voluntary, they make you a more desirable candidate.
