The qualifications needed to become an HL7 interface developer typically include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology systems and several years of experience in systems analysis, software development, and quality assurance. You should also have a strong working knowledge of healthcare-specific software and data sharing applications, databases, and standards, such as EHR, HealthShare, and LOINC, and HL7 protocols for batches of files.
