As a DevOps engineer, you collaborate with the IT development and operations teams to oversee the continuous integration of software applications throughout development, deployment, and infrastructure management. Your job duties include coding, scripting, testing, managing hardware and network configurations, logging, and performing health checks. You may be responsible for managing the automation processes between development and operations, and ensuring they work together for code releases. You may use a variety of DevOps tools like Nagios, Docker, and Git.

To become a DevOps engineer, you need a background in software development and system operations. Most employers prefer a bachelor’s degree in computer science and years of experience in both fields. Along with those qualifications, you need strong teamwork and communication skills and in-depth knowledge of coding, system administration, and process re-engineering. To pursue a career in DevOps, you need the initiative and motivation to cross-train yourself and seek out projects to build your skillset.

Job Summary

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to program and incorporate new codes into our software products. In this position, you will write codes for patches, updates, and bug fixes to not only keep our product running, but also to keep it fresh and invigorating for our customers. That makes this position one with diverse responsibilities. You will also test the product to ensure all the pieces are functional and work with various departments to determine what needs to be incorporated into the software. Our ideal applicant has a bachelor's degree in computer science and experience in both software development and systems operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Test software to ensure it works with various systems
• Determine what areas need to have updates or repairs
• Write code to address these areas
• Perform health checks on the software to ensure it stays up and running

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Software development experience

• Familiarity with various programming languages; certification preferred
