JOB SUMMARY The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Specialty and Primary Care Clinics (SPCC) will be accountable for the delivery of quality care to patients and families of all ages according to the individualized needs of the patient. The LPN provides professional nursing services in the clinic assisting physicians, midlevel providers, and other clinical staff.# ################ PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned: Greets patients appropriately, maintaining a positive attitude. Performs skilled nursing care as directed by the medical order and the patient condition.
Intervenes with proper techniques, procedures and safety precautions to meet the patient needs. Acts confidently and promptly in life-threatening situations. Teaches, in collaboration with the provider, patient and/or family regarding health, prevention, disease process, medication, procedures, treatment, prevention of complications and self-care.
Maintains timely and accurate recording of care provided in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and paper chart. Functions within limits and scope of Washington State Nurse Practice Act. Performs EKG#s and lab specimen collection as ordered by the provider.
Participates in quality improvement activities as requested. Responsible for personal, professional education and growth development. Anticipate the needs of the provider to support efficient/quality patient care in the SPCC.
Maintain health and safety standards in all areas of specialty and primary care. Interacts with other members of the hospital, SPCC, and all other referral sources with excellent customer service that always puts the patient needs first. # JOB KNOWLEDGE # QUALIFICATIONS # Education High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program. Must maintain an active LPN license issued by the Washington Department of Health.############################# ########### # Training and Experience A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an LPN is required, with previous experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred. Additional experience in phlebotomy preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records preferred. Evidence of a working style that emphasizes collegiality, teamwork, participation, communication and service orientation required. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist in other duties as needed and possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask required.
Must possess a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion and maintain a professional appearance. # Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse. ACLS certification, TNCC and PALS/ENPC preferred.
