Description
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team. This position will assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.
Requirements

  • Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points
  • Processing of raw field data through Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D
  • Perform QA/QC checks
  • Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff
  • Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  • Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Experience:
  • Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking
  • Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center for production activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
  • Full use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.
Preferred Experience
  • An Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
  • SIT Certification
  • Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
  • Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
  • Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments
  • Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods (must have the capability of self-funding the total amount of expenses until reimbursement can be disbursed) Processing and drafting utilizing LiDAR point clouds and imagery
  • TBC Scanning Module preferred
  • MicroStation experience preferred
  • Ability to utilize survey field equipment is preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 UAS License
