Description
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Urban Dove seeks a dedicated leader to oversee and elevate our Sports-Based Youth Development coaches. As a lead in the Urban Dove Team, you'll oversee the coaching staff, ensuring they're well-trained and continuously developed. Manage all Sports-Based Youth Development (SBYD) sessions, monitor coach-student interactions, and student progress. You'll supervise coaching transitions, ensure curriculum rigor in SBYD, and use data-driven strategies for continuous improvement.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hire and facilitate training for all coaches
  • Plan and lead regular professional development sessions for coaches
  • Arrange coverage for absences and latenesses
  • Observe coaches and provide intentional and timely feedback
  • Conduct intentional coaching cycles
  • Conduct regular check-ins with every coach
  • Schedule and coordinate all SBYD sessions (including Uber Dove, study hall & health)
  • Monitor and manage coach gradebooks, call log records, attendance and intervention
  • Plan, coordinate and manage all SBYD transitions
  • Oversee accurate inventory of all SBYD materials
  • Monitor regular completion of coach and student 1:1 meetings
  • Monitor academic and behavior progress of each team, work with coaches to implement interventions as needed
  • Get regular updates on coach interventions for students behavior, academics, and attendance
  • Supervise coaches during transitions
  • Ensure adequate, rigorous curriculum is being taught in SBYD and Health
  • Facilitate bi-weekly attendance meetings
  • Analyze SBYD data
  • Lead SBYD Data days every grading cycle

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's preferred
  • 1-2 years of UD SBYD Coaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to "multi-task" and deliver high quality work
  • Commitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication
  • Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issues
  • Ability to function well as part of a team and work independently
  • Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth, and a sense of humor

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annually based on years of experience and education.
