Job Description

We are currently looking for welders from entry level to experienced welder fabricators to work at our Ogden, UT manufacturing plant, assisting with the fabrication of custom products and modification of products to customer specifications.

Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Must show initiative to learn and apply new skills.

2. Must be capable of receiving and following oral instructions on each given task.

3. Must be a team player.

4. Must understand and follow all U.S.F.F. safety regulations and policies.

5. Must be capable of producing sound welds in most grades of material

6. Must be able to fit parts together using square etc. using verbal instructions.

7. Must be able to read, understand, and follow basic drawings.

8. Must be able to assemble product with minimal supervision.

9. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

10. Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

11. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

12. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps

13. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

14. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

15. Must maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

16. And any other duties that may be assigned by management.

 

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a welder

2. Must be able to read a tape measure.

3. Must be able to weld with Mig

4. Must be able to pass AWS D 1.1 weld certification.

5. Must be able to interpret welding symbols.

6. Tools required: Tape measure.

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must have the ability to hear alarms and audibly identify dangers or hazards when working in production areas.
