Kitchen Assistant & Driver

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job posting for a full time Kitchen Assistant/Driver in our Kitchen for the Manatee County Salvation Army, located in Bradenton, Florida. JOB SUMMARY Assists in the preparation and serving of meals; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, mops, and waxes floors. Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up food donations and deliver to The Salvation Army Food Services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques. Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals. Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances.

Ability to clean kitchen and dining area. Knowledge of acceptable driving techniques and practices. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE One year experience working in a kitchen preferred and Two years' experience operating an automotive vehicle, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Valid State Driver's License. MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting. WORKING CONDITIONS Works is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers.
