St. Laurence High School is seeking applicants for a school growth position in Social Science teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. St. Laurence High School is a Catholic, coed high school located in Burbank, Illinois, a southwest suburb minutes outside of Chicago. Our culture of challenging the status quo has made St. Laurence a school on the rise. A shift to a project-based learning curriculum has been the cornerstone of our dynamic academic program, which has resulted in recognition at the local, national and international levels - St. Laurence was the first STEM-accredited high school in Illinois and is currently the Chicago southland's only Catholic high school to offer an International Baccalaureate Program. While we have embraced innovation, we still maintain the strong, Catholic faith-based tradition of over 60 years as an Edmund Rice Christian Brother school.
With nine consecutive years of enrollment increases and our highest anticipated enrollment in over 25 years during the 2026-2027 school year, St. Laurence is bucking the trend of Catholic education. The growth provides our students, faculty, staff, families and alumni a sense of stability, security and confidence in our future, while also allowing us to improve selectivity and ensure an increasingly excellent quality of student.
St. Laurence offers a competitive pay scale including multi-year contracts after 5 years of service and numerous stipend opportunities for coaching and moderating. In addition, we provide a benefits package that includes 90% of health coverage and a 5% base pay contribution each year into a 403b account.

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Preferred)
  • Valid Professional Educator License

  • Ability to use technology in instruction and for student learning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to collaboration, curriculum development, and creating innovative lesson and unit plans
