This role works on a hybrid schedule (in office and work from home).

  • Assisting General Counsel, including support for multi-unit restaurants.
  • Drafting and finalizing all documentation (leases, subleases, license agreements, general security agreements, promissory notes, etc.) related to the opening and operation of each restaurant including contact with potential and existing investors and preparation of closing books.
  • Maintaining the Corporate Insurance Program and all inquiries related to same. Assisting restaurants in the handling of insurance related inquiries and potential claims from guests, including the screening and forwarding of all incident report forms received from each restaurant.
  • Maintaining and updating the Site Database for each location, ensuring proper lease information is entered and legal descriptions are correct. Communicating relevant lease information to the Accountant and General Manager of each location.
  • Maintaining and updating the Corporate Database for all corporate entities.
  • Preparing Articles of Incorporation/Amendment/Amalgamation as required, including all corporate filings, Form 1’s and annual CALURA questionnaires.
  • Maintaining minute books for all companies including annual minutes, post-amalgamation resolutions and other resolutions as required.
  • Applying for and completing liquor license applications, including all related inquiries.
  • Completing all necessary federal, provincial, municipal and state filings. Maintaining paper files for same.
  • Preparing and filing trademark applications and maintaining trademark binder. Ensuring all trademarks applications are inputted on Corporate Database.

 


  • Law Clerk; Member of Institute of Law Clerks of Ontarioor Paralegal; accredited diploma by the Law Society of Ontario
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and self-motivate
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
