Research EnterpriseRutgers Health oversees one of the nation's most extensive university-based health research enterprises, driving basic, clinical, population, and translational research across the biomedical and health sciences. As New Jersey's research powerhouse, Rutgers Health supports 525,000 square feet of laboratory space, receives $564.3 million in research and sponsored program awards (2024), and maintains more than 450 clinical trials at any given time, reflecting its deep commitment to advancing scientific discovery and improving population health. Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state's only National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, anchors the university's oncology research efforts.
