St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a partnership between Tower Health and Drexel University, is a 188-bed facility that provides exceptional care to children throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding counties.
St. Christopher's has more than 220 pediatric experts on staff, combining top-notch pediatric care with a wide array of pediatric specialties including Cardiology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Works with the nursing staff independently to deliver routine nursing care and assessment of the pediatric patient.
- Coordinates and organizes pertinent patient information.
- Communicates and interacts with patient, families, staff and physicians and administration.
Skills & Abilities:
- Measurement and documentation of vital signs, heights, weights, and head circumferences.
- Ability to obtain laboratory specimens according to laboratory specifications. This includes, but is not limited to phlebotomy skills, completion of lab slips and entering patient data for test onto the computer.
- Ability to assist both nurses and physicians with treatments, non-invasive and invasive procedures.
- Ability to use and care for medical equipment and instruments used on unit and to administer patient care.
- Coordination of the unit supply items and equipment.
- Maintains and coordinate patients' files, records and other information as required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills to assess laboratory info, Invision and operating room scheduling date as required.
- Ability to both work independently and within the team structure.

Qualifications
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required upon hire or within 1 month with onsite training and certification.

Preferred Skills
- Two (2) or three (3) years of experience working in a medical office
