About the Role:

The Marketing team at PitchBook is critical to fueling the company’s growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to support our Sales and Customer Success departments grow and retain our client base. The Marketing department is responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies and attending client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for promoting the PitchBook brand and managing internal communications.

PitchBook’s Software Engineer, Marketing is responsible for prospect movement through our Sales and Marketing funnel focused on lead routing, field mapping, pipeline health and system integrations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Own internal marketing tech stack through management and maintenance of our internal products
  • Design, build and launch efficient and reliable data pipelines to move and transform data
  • Securely source external data from numerous partners
  • Work closely with others within the team and with other teams across company, specifically Sales, Marketing and Product teams
  • Identify business problems and solve them with automation
  • Apply proven expertise and build high-performance scalable internal products
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or related field
  • 4+ years of Marketo or similar marketing automation platform
  • 4+ years of Python development experience
  • 4+ years of SQL experience and relational databases experience
  • 4+ years of experience in custom or structured ETL design, implementation and maintenance
  • 2+ years of work experience as a developer or in equally technical roles
  • 2+ years of Apex (a Java-like language) coding experience with Salesforce
  • 2+ years of work experience in Javascript
  • Comfortable in a highly collaborative environment and working closely with others within the team and with other teams across company. Being able to work well with other technical or non-technical folks is a requirement
  • Apply proven expertise and build high-performance scalable internal products
  • Able to demonstrate good fundamental engineering skills and understanding of core CS concepts (e.g., Why would you write this bit of code this way vs that way? What are the different performance trade-offs of your choice? How would you refactor it to make it faster or lighter or easier to test or easier to read, etc.)
  • Very comfortable expressing your thoughts in a programming language in Python - you should be able to demonstrate proficiency in it
  • Comfortable quickly picking up new programming languages, platforms and tools
  • Design, build and launch efficient and reliable data pipelines to move and transform data
  • Often, we work in AWS, inside EC2 instances or in Lambdas, using Python - prior knowledge of these concepts is useful
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
