Job description
Hiring Sr Linux admin for contract to hire role located in Chicago downtown.
Successful candidate will primarily provide LINUX support and some Windows OS support to include but not limited to:
The installation, configuration and supporting various systems and core services such as NFS, DHCP, LDAP, etc. Install new / rebuild existing servers (both physical and virtual) and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
Strong experience in RHEL 7/8 Linux administration, performance tuning and support experience Strong experience with configuring Red Hat Satellite, Kickstart servers, Identity Management, licensing and subscription management Experience with RedHat Ansible and Ansible Tower configuration management tool Expertise in Ansible, CICD Pipeline, Shell scripting, PowerShell, DevSecOps/Agile Work in Ansible Tower to configure job Templates, Workflow, Inventories, credentials and integrating splunk for monitoring Familiarity with github for version control Good networking understanding Strong Shell scripting (bash/ksh, PERL, Python) Ability to provision bare metal installs, configure, operate and maintain systems Experience with ESXi including capacity planning, advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting, and performance management Experience with VMware NetBackup implementation experience a plus Experience with monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol, Tivoli Monitoring Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines Must be self-motivated and work well with other groups Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required
