Compensation Range: $55/hr - $60/hr W2

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise Red Hat Linux environments supporting mission-critical infrastructure across multiple data centers. This individual will be responsible for Linux administration, VMware support, automation, monitoring, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management while partnering closely with storage, virtualization, backup, and cloud infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate has deep experience supporting enterprise RHEL environments and thrives in highly available production environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Administer and support enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) environments.
• Manage Linux systems running within VMware vSphere virtualized infrastructure.
• Perform server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management using Red Hat Satellite.
• Monitor Linux infrastructure health, availability, performance, and capacity using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Automate system administration tasks using Ansible and Shell scripting.
• Troubleshoot Linux operating system, networking, and VMware-related issues.
• Support disaster recovery operations, replication testing, and production recovery activities.
• Work directly with Red Hat support to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Execute operating system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Fulfill server administration and user access requests.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and system inventories.
• Partner closely with storage, virtualization, backup, cloud, and infrastructure engineering teams.
• Participate in a rotating 24/7 production on-call schedule supporting critical enterprise systems.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
• 7 years of enterprise Linux administration experience.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9).
• Experience supporting VMware/vSphere virtualized Linux environments.
• Strong Ansible automation experience.
• Strong Shell scripting experience.
• Experience using Prometheus and Grafana for enterprise monitoring.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite for patching and lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting enterprise disaster recovery operations and DR testing.
• Experience supporting large enterprise production Linux environments.
• Experience working within ITIL and ServiceNow environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux operating systems, virtualization, networking, and infrastructure.
• Comfortable participating in a rotating production on-call schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Puppet configuration management experience.
• AWS or cloud infrastructure experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or highly regulated data center environments.
• Experience leading Linux migration or modernization initiatives.
