Job description

Movement Labs is an incubator and consulting firm that uses technology, data, and experimentation to stop fascism and build progressive power. We help progressives win and defeat MAGA extremists through year-round work grounded in research and real-world testing. Our team partners with leading advocacy groups, grassroots organizers, and electoral campaigns to develop innovative tactics, win elections, and shift power for the long term.

As the R&D powerhouse for the progressive movement, we've run over 100 randomized control trials (RCTs) on voter behavior and helped hundreds of organizations increase their impact. We work hard, and the environment evolves rapidly. We are adaptable, nimble, and shift quickly as needed to meet the moment. We are looking for candidates who thrive in this type of environment.

About the Role

This role provides broad program management and execution capacity across the digital team's internal and external work. Programs span randomized controlled trials, A/B and pilot tests, digital organizing campaigns and paid digital mobilization efforts. This person keeps programs moving across paid digital, social media innovation, and cross-channel programs. They manage the coordination layer across partners and bring a sharp eye for the digital landscape to the team.

This role will run from July 13 through November 6. This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities
  • Program & Project Management
    • Responsible for scope, timelines, and deliverables on owned programs.
    • Manage internal and external client programs end-to-end, including managing timelines, internal and external relationships, and funder-facing deliverables. Programs include: experiments with paid digital ads to persuade and mobilize voters during elections, and social media innovation pilots
  • Social Media Innovation
    • Project manage social media innovation programs, including social matching programs or social media randomized controlled trials (RCTs) — coordinating reports, synthesizing data, and supporting analysis across organic social and social matching programs.
    • Support data interpretation for clients including social matching programs or social media RCTs, analysis, slides, and deliverables for clients.
    • Contribute actively to the Innovation Working Group, bringing ideas to ideation and vetting, owning or supporting innovation programs as assigned, including making operational decisions to keep work on track and on quality.
    • Stay current on the digital landscape — flag relevant industry news, trends, and platform developments to the team, and bring ideas on what to test, who to partner with, or how to open new organizational relationships.
  • Paid Digital Campaign Support
    • Support paid digital ad strategy, media planning, and campaign execution in coordination with the Digital Director or Sr. Digital Associate.
    • Support performance tracking and reporting on digital spend and campaign outcomes.
  • Client, Partner & Funder Communications
    • Analyze data and program results to provide first-level interpretation and draft communications materials.
    • Manage and produce external-facing reports and communications including funder-facing deliverables.
    • Manage and nurture external client relationships, keeping high-stakes partner conversations active, well-documented, and moving forward.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments including Experiments, Tech, Data, and CES teams as programs require.
    • Coordinate with short-term contractors or vendors as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in the digital political space; managing social media accounts, driving creative strategy, paid media, email, and digital organizing—internships and volunteer experience count
  • Fluent in digital communications, well-versed and current in paid digital ad trends and tactics, and familiarity with online voter persuasion and mobilization. Comfort working across modalities: texting, paid digital, phones, mail, not siloed to one channel.
  • Familiarity with experimentation, ideally RCTs or A/B testing, especially in paid digital or social programs
  • Experience on campaigns or at political organizations, digital vendors (e.g. Middle Seat, RTI), or progressive orgs
  • Experience working with external clients or stakeholders
  • Ability to project manage across multiple programs simultaneously and keep timelines on track

Benefits

  • Total compensation package equivalent to $76,875-$91,875 annualized.
    • This includes a base salary of $70,000-$85,000, a $5,000 end of cycle bonus, and a work life stipend of $1,875 in pre-tax dollars to support employees during our highest intensity work period
  • Excellent health, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) matching, and unlimited Paid Time Off (vacation time is limited during Election Sprint, August 24-November 3).
Remote‑first culture with teammates across the country
  • This position includes possible on-call requirements
  • This position is not eligible for the collective bargaining unit
