Job Description

New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. Our Medical Affairs team advances patient care by engaging in scientific exchange with external medical experts and industry professionals ensuring the scientific value of our products is realized. We engage and train internal employees to ensure that they thoroughly comprehend the science behind the medicine and review further unmet medical needs to bolster collaboration and further differentiate our portfolio.

The Senior Scientific Specialist in Global Medical Information is involved with a high level of therapeutic, scientific and product expertise to ensure high ethics, standards and integrity in the Pharmaceutical industry. They also, exercise a high order of human relations in the global environment. Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

Primary Responsibilities:

Medical Information
  • Critically evaluates scientific data in the development and maintenance of standard response documents which are utilized to respond to unsolicited Medical Information Requests (MIRs) from healthcare professionals.
  • Responds (in written and verbal form) to unsolicited questions from healthcare professionals and provides detailed scientific and medical information to address inquiries regarding our Company's products.
  • Discusses in-depth scientific and medical topics with Health Care Professionals by staffing Medical Information Booths at scientific congresses.
  • Collaborates with other Company colleagues in the creations/updates of Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and other product dossiers and may assist with preparation of medical information documents for formulary discussions.


Medical/Scientific Review of Promotional Materials
  • Collaborates with a cross-functional Promotional Review Team to drive scientific accuracy and quality review/approval of promotional materials from U.S. and Global Human Health Marketing teams and external partners, consistent with all applicable company policies, local regulations, and departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).


Medical Education and Training
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) and consultant in the development of medical education materials.
  • Creates and delivers scientific lectures and training on products and disease states.


Education Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Science or Medical-related profession (e.g., MA/MS/MSN/PA/Pharm D., Ph.D).
  • Minimum of a master's degree in a science, nursing, pharmacy, or other clinical discipline.


Required Experience and Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, statistical concepts, and evaluation/interpretation of complex scientific literature
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to consolidate and understand complex data sets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to interpret, summarize, and communicate complicated scientific data effectively and concisely.
  • Must be able to plan and work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional global teams
