Job description

We’re looking for a dependable Engineering Apprentice to support shop operations and assist with daily maintenance, repair, and equipment-related tasks. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work in an industrial environment and is eager to learn from experienced team members.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist shop personnel with maintenance, repair, and general support tasks as assigned.
  • Help organize tools, equipment, materials, and work areas to maintain a safe and efficient shop environment.
  • Support equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance activities.
  • Assist with cleaning, preparing, and staging equipment for service or operational use.
  • Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Learn shop processes, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures through hands-on training.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials or equipment within the shop or yard.
  • Complete assigned duties accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding task progress or safety concerns.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by leadership.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Strong mechanical skills and interest in industrial maintenance or engineering support work.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions while working independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks during 8–12 hour shifts.
  • Ability to work in industrial shop environments with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures while wearing required PPE.
