Diagnostic Technician/Ophthalmic Photographer

The Ophthalmic Diagnostic Technician/Photographer contributes to the organization by performing diagnostic tests as ordered by an Ophthalmologist. The Diagnostic Technician works with the Diagnostics team to provide services to a wide arrange of patients and their Physicians.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of principles, practices/procedures of Ophthalmic Technology
• Knowledge of medical ophthalmic terminology.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in OCT & VF'S required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred to perform injections of Fluorescein contrast dye for retinal imaging on multiple cameras.
• Retinal Research experience preferred & GCP certification preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of technical procedures that require knowledge and good patient care, to include:
- Advanced Fundus Photography for Study Certification
- Fluorescein Angiography
- Venipuncture
- Slit Lamp Photography
- Immersion A-Scans
- B-Scan examination
- Advanced IOL Calculations
- PDT Injections/Assist Doctor with Laser:
- Assumes responsibility with team for the overall cleanliness of diagnostic rooms
- Advises Director of any problems with equipment
- Complies with HIPPA regulations
- Responsible for continuing education and professional development
- All other duties as assigned
