Responsibilities:

  • Thorough understanding of current traffic engineering standards and practices
  • Working knowledge of drafting, traffic analysis, and simulation programs (Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, AUTOCAD) is required. Knowledge of VISSIM and SIDRA is a plus
  • Good writing skills with the ability to prepare reports and memorandums.
  • Interest in learning and growing as a professional while mentoring younger staff to strengthen the team
  • Attendance at industry events and networking.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus on Traffic/Transportation preferred
  • 7+ years of traffic engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be considered
  • PE is required (CT preferred), and PTOE, and RSP are plusses.
  • Experience developing conceptual intersection/corridor options is a plus
  • Interest and experience in working on complete streets projects is a plus
  • Experience with urban design and current design practices for multi-modal accommodation is a plus
  • Experience working on CTDOT projects is a plus
