Position: Traffic Administrator 


Primary Objective of Position:

The Traffic Administrator is responsible for managing all domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments.


Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Negotiates contracts with specialized carriers for truck load, super load, ocean freight, railroad, UPS and courier services.
  • Determine best mode of transportation by using an outline drawing to estimate the weight and dimensions. 
  • Arrange LTL shipments through Insight TMS Portal.
  • Packaging and shipping of small packages with UPS, FedEx and DHL Express. Must work closely with Final Assembly and Crating teams.
  • Produce documents for domestic and international shipments, which include Bill of Lading, Packing List, Shipper's Letter of Instruction and the Commercial Invoice.
  • Obtains transportation quotes for Sales Departments, New, Aftermarket, and Repair 
  • Prepare state permit letters for super loads.
  • Audit Freight Invoices for Finance Department.
  • File IRS Form 2290 Heavy Use Tax annually.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations for trucking. 
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity. Requires self-direction and a clear, courteous manner when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with external vendors and suppliers. Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency with the ability to utilize MS Outlook, MS Excel, and SAP. 
  • Maintain communication with several departments to insure timely shipments.
  • Continue improvement to meet demands on challenging shipping schedule.
  • Advise on shipping activities to ensure profitable outcome and meet company goals and objectives

Pay:

$50,000


Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in both an office and manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to routinely move throughout the office and manufacturing facility to perform work. 
  • Requires the ability to routinely lift/move up to 50 lbs. 
  • Requires the ability to ascend and descend stairs daily to reach all areas of the manufacturing facility.
