WideOrbit Traffic Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Wide Orbit Traffic Manager to oversee the scheduling, coordination, and execution of commercial, promotional, and programming content across WRTV (ABC) WISH-TV (CW) WNDY. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate placement of advertisements, maintaining broadcast logs, formatting Programming coordinating with sales and programming teams, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and contractual obligations.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced media environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and has experience managing broadcast traffic systems while balancing multiple deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and reconcile daily broadcast logs for television, radio, or digital broadcast platforms.
  • Schedule commercial spots, promotional announcements, public service announcements, and programming content according to client contracts and station requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Programming, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure accurate execution of advertising campaigns.
  • Verify inventory availability and manage spot placement to maximize revenue and meet advertiser commitments.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate Format changes, breaking news, special programming, or client requests.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Process commercial instructions, copy changes, make-goods, and preemptions.
  • Generate traffic reports, billing verification, affidavits, and performance documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to commercial placement, scheduling, and advertiser fulfillment.
  • Train and support traffic coordinators or other operations staff as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within Wide Orbit software systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast traffic, media operations, or advertising scheduling.
  • Experience with broadcast traffic systems such as WideOrbit, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast scheduling, commercial inventory management, and advertising workflows.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Formatting in WideOrbit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Successful candidate must have extensive experience working with the Wideorbit 22.1.0 platform, with several years of hands‑on experience in traffic operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in order entry, inventory management, log editing, commercial scheduling, reconciliation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • They should have a strong understanding of broadcast workflows in WideOrbit 22.1.0 and be comfortable generating reports, managing inventory, formatting and working collaboratively with Sales, Traffic, and Operations to ensure accurate scheduling, billing, and campaign execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in television, radio, cable, or digital broadcasting environments.
  • Knowledge of FCC regulations and broadcast compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with audience measurement and media reporting tools.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.
