Traffic Coordinator for Export and Domestic Transportation

Location: Heritage Plastics, Inc. – Picayune, MS
Department: Shipping & Logistics

Join Our Team

Heritage Plastics is seeking a detail-oriented Traffic Coordinator) to manage domestic and international shipments while ensuring products are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This position serves as a key link between our customers, warehouse, transportation providers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to coordinate efficient shipping operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily domestic and international shipments
  • Schedule truckload, LTL, rail, ocean, and air freight with transportation providers
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bill of ladings and export documents
  • Monitor shipment status and communicate delays or issues with customers and internal departments
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure compliance with shipping regulations
  • Track shipments and resolve transportation issues to ensure timely delivery
  • Audit freight invoices and shipping documentation for accuracy
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business is a plus)
  • 2-3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, traffic coordination, shipping, or export operations
  • Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments
  • Working knowledge of bill of ladings, carrier scheduling, freight routing, and shipping documentation
  • Experience working with LTL, truckload, rail, ocean, and/or air freight
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
