Import Coordinator
About the Role
Provides support and administration of import traffic while maximizing margin and efficiency. Responsible for all day-to-day activities in the transportation cycle: dispatching carriers to align with our customers' needs, tracking shipments, customer reporting, issue resolution and invoicing.
What You'll Do
    • Support Import Department in all aspects of Import Traffic activity.
    • Responsible for the day-to-day activities in the transportation cycle; including contacting drivers for status updates.
    • Responsible for executing shipments, customer reporting, customer tracking and customer billing.
    • Understand customs and freight releases and how/whom to contact for resolution.
    • Update customer records via Descartes operating system, ensuring data integrity.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For
    • 2-3 years' experience providing stellar, responsive, front-line customer service is preferred.
    • Associates or Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university with a focus on International Business preferred.
    • Highly organized; possessing the ability to learn and apply established procedures within a short ramp-up time.
    • Quick learner, multi-tasker, organized, detail-oriented, problem-solver.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proven experience managing/prioritizing own work assignments, and meeting deadlines.
    • Requires confidence and independent decision-making skills to problem-solve, juggle competing priorities, and provide accurate and responsive customer service.
    • Ability to quickly assess client situations and escalate to management when needed.
    • Must have willingness to learn and grown in a fast-paced environment and work well with others as a team.
    • Proficient with Windows operating system, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and internet browsers.
