Job description

Cloud System Admin

We are seeking a DevOps / SRE Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable AWS infrastructure with a strong emphasis on deployments, automation, and CI/CD. This role prioritizes enabling fast, reliable software delivery while maintaining high system availability and performance. You will work closely with development teams to streamline deployment pipelines, improve release velocity, and enforce infrastructure best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage AWS-based Linux infrastructure for scalable application deployments  
  • Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, repeatable, and fast deployments
  • Manage application releases, deployments, and rollback strategies across environments
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and application delivery using Infrastructure as Code
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve build, test, and deployment workflows
  • Troubleshoot deployment failures, pipeline issues, and production incidents
  • Implement blue/green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies
  • Maintain system reliability, monitoring, and alerting for production services
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and cost of cloud infrastructure
  • Enforce security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines
  • Maintain runbooks, deployment documentation, and operational procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting production systems

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, Rocky/CentOS)
  • 3+ years of AWS experience (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EKS, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch)
  • Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)  
  • Hands-on experience with application deployments in cloud environments
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python for automation
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred, CloudFormation acceptable)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS)
  • Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)
  • Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog)
  • Experience implementing deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling updates)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across pipelines, infrastructure, and applications

  • Benefits are offered such as medical/dental/vision insurance and vacation time.  401k will be obtained as a benefit after 1 full  year of service.

  • Compensation for Cloud System Admin will range from $90,000 to $120,000 based on experience, if your experience falls outside required ranges compensation may be based on other open roles.
