Job description

Job Description
The Seasonal Plaza Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the 24/7 safety and security of the entire outside property of the Casino, protecting guests, team members, and company assets while delivering exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities
  • Provides basic security coverage ensuring that adequate protection is provided for the safety and assets of patrons, Team Members, vendors and the company.

  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, able to climb steps, respond to emergency situations, and handle basic duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Monitor, secure and report all suspicious activity within the barns.

  • Observe, ensure and secure the gate for all horses and handlers.

  • Monitor, secure and report all suspicious activity within the area.

  • Grandstands - monitor, secure and report all suspicious activity within the area. Provide guest service.

  • Midnight Grandstands - secure the facility for ending the business day and maintain for security & overall operational needs.

  • Midnight Stable Gate - Control access and monitor for suspicious activity. Provide security for all grounds and buildings.

  • Paddock - monitor, secure and report all suspicious activity or safety within the area.

  • Parking Control - assists with parking directions and traffic flow for parking areas.

  • Stable Gate - control all traffic and entry into and out of the stable gate areas.

  • Test Barn - ensure all regulations are maintained; secure the area and observe for suspicious activity and safety concerns.

  • Winners Circle - monitor, secure and report all suspicious activity within the area. Provide guest service.

  • Escort Assignment - escorting for any reason while maintaining security for any suspicious activity or safety concerns.

  • Veterinarian Escort - observe and escort all Veterinarians administering treatment to the animals. Maintain security throughout.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
  • Must be 19 years of age or older

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language

  • HS Diploma or GED required

  • Previous security experience preferred

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers

  • Basic computer skills required

  • Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise security reports

  • Must present a well-groomed appearance

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License with fewer than three moving violations (and no major violations such as DUI) in the past 36 months

  • Ability to maintain extremely confidential information.

  • General familiarity with investigative procedures.

  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.

  • Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports.

  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.

  • Flexible to work various shifts to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to be CPR Certified

  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds

  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively

  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period

  • Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects

  • Must be able to work in an environment subject to variable temperatures, bright flashing lights, and loud noise.
