Garde Manger

Blue Heron Restaurant & Catering in Sunderland, MA is looking for an experienced full time garde manger. Applicants must be able to work nights and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter and Thanksgiving. Starting pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies
• Follow recipes and prepare simple dishes
• Prep salads, cold appetizers, and desserts
• Shuck oysters
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chop vegetables, prepare sauces and dressings)
• Prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food according to health and safety standards
• Stock inventory
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification preferred
• Previous prep experience
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards
• Able to anticipate needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs
• Strong attention to detail
• Works well with others

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Mondays and Tuesdays. Compensation is $15.00 - $18.00/hour.
