BayCare is currently in search of our newest Acute and Outpatient Speech Therapist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. Since 1953, South Florida Baptist Hospital has been a trusted and loved hospital for all our community's health and wellness needs. Our compassionate and caring team of experts, including nearly 800 team members and 250 physicians, work diligently to make sure that you receive high-quality care when you visit the hospital. Our new 204-bed replacement hospital that opened in the Spring of 2024 offers many more services than a standard community hospital, as we're part of the BayCare family of health care facilities
Speech Therapist Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
  • Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred:
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in inpatient/acute and outpatient setting
  • Experience with modified barium swallow studies and dysphagia management
