What Youll Do

As a teacher at Anchor Academic Center of Excellence, you will play a vital role in shaping meaningful learning experiences for students by:

  • Creating and implementing engaging lesson plans while exploring supplemental resources to enrich instruction.
  • Establishing and communicating clear objectives for lessons, activities, and projects.
  • Adapting teaching methods, materials, and specialized equipment to meet each students individual learning style and needs.
  • Planning and leading educational classroom and outdoor activities that inspire curiosity and participation.
  • Encouraging students to discover learning opportunities, daily living skills, and future career paths.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who need additional guidance and attention.
  • Assessing, monitoring, and evaluating student academic progress.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Leading parent-teacher conferences and communicating student progress effectively.
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Establishing and reinforcing classroom expectations and standards of conduct.
  • Working independently while demonstrating initiative, confidence, and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher required
  • 1+ years of teaching experience or 3+ years in a related field
  • Teaching Certificate preferred
