Job Description

Albemarle Corporation is seeking an Equipment Inspector II with 10 or more years of experience to support our Catalyst business in Pasadena, TX.

Certification Job Requirements:

Certified Inspector in one or more of the following:

• Pressure Vessel Inspector (API - 510)
• Piping Inspector (API - 570)
• Above Ground Storage Tank Inspector (API -653)
• Level II Certifications in a minimum of 4 of the following:
• (BT) Bubble Leak Testing
• (MT) Magnetic Particle Testing
• (PT) Liquid Penetrant Testing
• (RT) Radiographic Film Interpretation
• (UT) Ultrasonic Testing
• (VT) Visual Testing

• Inspect/accept required welds performed by Albemarle Maintenance and contractors. Witness required hydrostatic tests for acceptance.
• Provide inspection services on transport vessels as required by plant requirements. Supervise the code welder program by maintaining current weld test information on all Albemarle certified welders. Notify Management of certified welder deficiencies in a timely manner so that prompt corrective action can be taken.
• Provide inspector services on pressure vessels as required by plant requirements. Assist in developing repair methods for field site repairs and alterations as required by inspection findings and equipment failures.
• Provide inspector services to required (per API-570 and plant procedures) plant piping systems. These inspection services must be based on the risk-based methods.
• Handle all recommendations as required (SAP & reporting) and interface with the field personnel on their planning and execution.
• Handle on call duties Comply with the Department Quality Control procedures to include at least the following:
• Verify Code Materials are proper by accepted methods such as heat numbers.
• Verify the Material Test Report and/or Certificate of Compliance per the Material Specifications and any other applicable requirements.
• Maintain all test equipment within calibration requirements.
• Review/accept heat treatment procedures provided by contracting firms employed for use on Albemarle equipment.

• High School Degree or GED Required and at least two API certifications.
