We are currently seeking an experienced UX Researcher (ML / TensorFlow) to be a key resource on a technical services team. This is a 1 year (Extendable) contract position with in Mountain View, CA. (work location zip code: 94043). This position will pay on a per hour on a W2 basis in accordance to the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Position Description

Title: UX Researcher

TensorFlow is an end-to-end open source machine learning platform. It has a comprehensive, flexible ecosystem of tools, libraries and community resources that lets researchers push the state-of-the-art in ML and developers easily build and deploy ML powered applications. TensorFlow powers a diverse community of developers, enterprises, and researchers using ML to solve challenging, real-world problems. It is used by companies like Airbnb, Coca-Cola, GE Healthcare, Google, Intel, and Twitter.

We’re looking for a UX Researcher to understand how TensorFlow is (or is not) meeting the needs of each user segment and various markets. You’ll identify opportunities to better serve users, looking at pain points, delights, and opportunities. Ideally you have interest and passion about machine learning and developer tools, with a background in Human Factors, Psychology, Human-Centered Design, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior. Our ideal UX Researcher is meticulous, has excellent communication skills, and can work independently. You will support the planning and execution of a variety of quick-turnaround research: usability testing, heuristic evaluations, literature reviews, surveys, etc. focused on TensorFlow.

NOTE: The position is based in Mountain View, CA. You may be occasionally asked to conduct research in other places.

Responsibilities

·        Prepare user research activities (work with the recruiters to schedule study sessions, set up the usability lab, etc.)

·        Analyze qualitative and quantitative data

·        Plan, observe and moderate usability testing sessions and interviews Administer surveys and diary studies

·        Write literature reviews. Find, analyze, and summarize existing research reports

·        Conduct competitive analysis and heuristic analysis

·        Create reports that resonate with stakeholder groups

·        Communicate findings with the team and beyond

·        Work with other researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

·        Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research

·        Required Skills

·        B.A./B.S. (completed) or M.A/M.S./Ph.D. (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Psychology, Human-Centered Design, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior

·        At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience, including integrating user research into product design

·        Experience conducting semi-structured interviews and usability studies either live or remote

·        Knowledge about machine learning and developer tools

·        Detail-oriented and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks

·        Persuasive communication that is grounded in data

·        Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and adapt to changing schedules and different tasks

Desired Experience:

Working with TensorFlow / Research experience on an API surface

Experience in building enterprise products, developer tools, or internal infrastructure

Technical background and/or interest and aptitude in understanding abstract, technical concepts
