Job Description
Job Duties:
The Lead HTST Operator is responsible for effectively operating and cleaning all equipment used to process and store finished fluid, cultured dairy products, juices, and drinks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate HTST pasteurization unit, separator within specified requirements, processes, and standards.
2. Operate CIP systems to clean the entire HTST system, separator, storage tanks, lines, filling equipment, tankers. This includes the manual sanitation of all removable parts and preparation for CIP.
3. Operate laboratory testing equipment to ensure all standards are in compliance and adjustments made to be within operating guidelines.
4. Unload and load raw and pasteurized milk into tankers.
5. Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance policies and practices. 6. Sanitary maintenance of valves, pumps, seals, gaskets as part of the HTST, Separator, Homogenizer, Blending, Storage Vessels, and Transfer lines.
7. Assist with State Time & Seals as well as separator and press teardown.
8. Fill out and file bills of lading and certificates of analysis.
9. Maintain records of plant fluid inventory.
10. Maintain proper raw milk silo rotation and production planning to ensure the product is available for packaging when needed. Accurately record information and maintain all documentation pertaining to FSMA, FDA, HACCP, SQF, USDA, and internal documents.
11. Operate equipment to meet product standards and specifications. Zero Waste.
12. General housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitizing all other areas and equipment.
13. Ability to obtain state permits to operate pasteurizer.
14. Ability to interpret and understand the results of official samples.
15. Ability to work safely with required sanitation and lab chemicals and follow appropriate PPE guidelines.
16. Ability to work with limited supervision.
Education, Licensure, or Certifications Required:
Food/Dairy education is a plus
Qualifications
- Seeking individual with food manufacturing experience, preferably in dairy, who is willing to work rotating shifts and learn the dairy pasteurization process.
Rotating schedule every 3 months: 1-3rd shifts
midnight - 9am
8 am - 4pm
3pm - midnight
