Job description

 SUMMARY
The individual in this role will play a critical part in building, supporting and maintaining our company Intranet SharePoint environment to help staff access information on demands or per subscription/notification.  This person will utilize SharePoint Search knowledge to plan and implement a search architecture that continues to improve a our staff's ability to find what is needed as quickly and efficiently as possible. This person will help ensure that our SharePoint environment is properly updated with security patches without impacting usability; he/she will be instrumental in working through unintended impacts to provide the best user experience. Beyond leveraging our SharePoint technology for an optimized, secure user experience, this person will help architect, design and develop applications that extend the Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016 platform through the use of a rapid development platform that replaces SharePoint InfoPath.  He or she will leverage best practices and be sure these practices are optimized, documented and consistently used throughout SharePoint projects and operational functions. He/she will play a key role in the application development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, unit testing, debugging, patching and documentation.  This person will contribute to the company's governance plan through helping to further define and refine a set of policies, roles, responsibilities and processes. Apply best practices in information architecture, content and metadata management to avoid any inefficiency. Plan and leverage the latest SharePoint 2013/2016 social computing and collaboration features to maximize the capture and share of knowledge and expertise within our company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • May analyze, design, configure, develop and implement intermediate-level solutions to meet business needs and objectives.
  • May work with business owners, DBA(s) and vendors to create integrations both to/from vendors.
  • Provides intermediate Level 3 support.  Investigates operational or systematic problems and provides resolution using intermediate analytical skills and tools as necessary.
  • Prepares project proposals and develops project plans. May lead small projects.
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of current and future directions of business industry and associated technologies.
  • Investigates and documents present procedures as liaison with user departments.
  • May develop and maintain application security, design and documentation according to legal compliance requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must understand Microsoft Windows Operating system architecture
  • Must have experience the Microsoft Visual Studio and VSTS
  • Must have experience working with SharePoint (on premise) server architecture, experience working with SharePoint farm  
  • Must understand SharePoint search architecture, have experience with search administration (managing index, crawling, relevance and maintaining search topology)  
  • Must have experience of understanding and working on cumulative updates
  • Must understand Microsoft SQL Server
  • Understanding of SharePoint Online is a plus
  • Understanding of K2 rapid development tools or other workflow tool knowledge and experience a plus)
  • Ability to participate in all aspects of application SDLC including Agile methodologies
  • Must participate in daily team scrums and code reviews
