Yard Jockey Job Summary
We are looking for a driver with trucking experience to join our company as a Yard Jockey or hostler. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required for this position. You must be comfortable operating switchers to dock or reposition containers or other large items and be able to maneuver containers around the facility. Our ideal candidate follows all safety protocols and can work efficiently to ensure there is no traffic back up in the yard. You will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure they are clean and in good working condition.
Yard Jockey Duties and Responsibilities
- Maneuver trucks within the yard
- Assist with docking
- Inspect containers as necessary
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and tools
Yard Jockey Requirements and Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a clean driving record
- Prior experience as a hostler is a plus
- Yard maintenance or forklift experience
