Senior Pharmacy Technician Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to help run our pharmacy and oversee our staff of technicians. In this position, you will help the pharmacist fill prescriptions and label products. You will also offer guidance and supervision to the more junior technicians. Our ideal applicant has a pharmacy technician certificate and several years of experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic that dispenses a high volume of medication. Senior Pharmacy Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Call doctors and patients to confirm prescriptions
- Fill and label prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Supervise and train other technicians
- Call patients when their prescription is ready
- Accept payments and insurance information from customers
Senior Pharmacy Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Vocational certificate or equivalent experience
- Several years of experience as a pharmacy technician
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Keen eye for detail
