Restaurant Manager Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to oversee our daily operations. You will be responsible for tracking inventory and ordering supplies, managing daily preparation of menu items, scheduling staff to ensure there is sufficient coverage during each shift, and monitoring the flow of business during each meal service. At the close of each meal, you will reconcile receipts, cash intake, and tips, and lock up cash and other financial records into the safe. Our ideal candidate has at least five years of industry experience, including supervisory roles, and is reliable and trustworthy.

Restaurant Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff
  • Create employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing at all times
  • Handle paperwork and other administrative duties
  • Maintain stock levels and order supplies when necessary
  • Manage the budget and keep relevant statistical and financial records
  • Ensure that the restaurant complies with all health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Handle complaints, conflicts, questions, and suggestions from restaurant patrons and employees

Restaurant Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a restaurant with at least 2 years in supervisory roles
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Flexible schedule
