Respiratory Therapist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly-skilled and compassionate respiratory therapist to join our growing medical team. In this position, you will play a key role in patient care by helping to monitor progress and administer breathing treatments as prescribed by our physicians. Experience working as a respiratory therapist in a clinical setting is a plus. You should have a patient-centered, caring approach and a proven ability to work as part of a team.

Respiratory Therapist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all necessary respiratory procedures using non-invasive methods, e.g. CPAP and BIPAP therapies
  • Educate staff on basic respiratory therapy procedures
  • Carefully follow doctors' instructions and conduct all prescribed therapies accurately and completely
  • Participate in the diagnosis and evaluation of patients, recommend treatments, and advise doctors on best practices to control abnormal functions in the patient's cardiopulmonary systems
  • Administer blood gas samples and perform basic analysis
  • Document all treatments and report progress to physicians
  • Maintain compliance with all laws and policies

Respiratory Therapist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in respiratory therapy
  • Valid RRT or CRT license, current and in good standing
  • 2+ years of experience as a licensed respiratory therapist
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong working knowledge of most up-to-date therapy procedures for patients
  • Excellent bedside manner
