Resident Care Assistant Job Summary

We provide top-notch care to all of our residents in our assisted living facility, and we need a compassionate Resident Care Assistant to help our residents with their daily activities. You will assist residents in tasks such as grooming and preparing for the day, which may include bathing, dressing, and going to the bathroom. You will also help residents change positions or move from one location to another within their home throughout the day. You will also administer medications, request prescription refills, coordinate transportation to appointments, and document any changes in the resident’s condition. Previous experience in an elderly care facility is a plus, but we do provide on-the-job training to all new staff.

Resident Care Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with their daily routine, including dressing, bathing, and grooming
  • Coordinate transportation
  • Administer medications and request refills
  • Accurately document each activity and any changes in the resident’s health

Resident Care Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • 1+ years of work experience with elderly (preferred)
  • Valid Food Hander’s permit
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability meet health requirements and pass a background check
