Patient Transporter Job Summary
Our hospital is seeking a Patient Transporter to help move patients around the facility. In this position, you will meet ambulances and other transport vehicles outside of the hospital and safely transport patients to their beds or the emergency room. You will also move patients between different areas of the hospital. Our preferred applicant has a certification from the National Association of Healthcare Transport Management. You may also provide basic life support in transit or conduct emergency procedures like stomach pumping, so experience as an EMT is also a plus.
Patient Transporter Duties and Responsibilities
- Help move patients out of transportation vehicles and into the hospital
- Move patients around the hospital
- Help doctors perform life support procedures while in transit
- Ensure patients are comfortable during transit
Patient Transporter Requirements and Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Experience as an EMT (preferred)
- Certification from the National Association of Healthcare Transport Management (preferred)
- BLS certification
