Patient Access Representative Job Summary

Our clinic is looking for a Patient Access Representative to join our team. In this role, you will obtain demographic and financial information from patients when they check in to our clinic. In addition to updating their information and processing copayments upon check-in, you will also assist with insurance authorizations and pre-certifications. This is an administrative role that requires customer service skills. Our ideal applicant has bilingual communication skills so they can help us serve a larger portion of our community.

Patient Access Representative Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients, obtaining demographic and financial information
  • Process copayments
  • Assist with insurance authorizations and pre-certifications
  • Answer a high volume of patient phone calls and emails
  • Attach medical orders to patient charts
  • Generate patient letters
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Patient Access Representative Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Associate degree (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Bilingual communication skills (preferred)
