Pathology Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced pathology physician. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in all laboratory and clinical procedures and have an extensive background in pathology. The position will require testing and analyzing samples to diagnose and treat diseases. Pathology Duties and Responsibilities
- Research diseases and causes using various equipment, methods, and technologies
- Prepare samples for examination
- Analyze tissue, cell, body fluids, and other samples
- Document analyzed results; report results and variations
- Compile research and information needed for further study
- Conduct tests, analyze, and categorize different samples against known results
- Record and document clinical manifestations in samples
- Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies
- Collect and analyze abnormalities
- Instruct and manage lab technicians and lab assistants
- Conduct a wide range of tests using scientific processes and methodologies
- Follow all health and safety regulations when handling and disposing of samples
- Ensure the sanitization and sterilization of equipment and workspace
- Submit research findings and data for study and collaboration
Pathology Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and Medical degree (MD or DO); Certified by the American Board of Pathology
- Three to five years' pathology residency
- Must be licensed to practice in state
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Encouraging to lab technicians, pathologists; able to mentor and lead staff and students
- Strict adherence to health and safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Good interpersonal skills and communication
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
