Pathologist Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly-skilled, experienced pathologist to join our innovative medical team. In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise in the study and diagnosis of disease, primarily in our state-of-the-art laboratory. You will also conduct gross examinations in a surgical setting, as needed. You will play a vital part in ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients and help train the next generation of physicians.

Pathologist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee cytopathology service department/laboratory
  • Conduct gross examinations and provide anatomical pathology services as needed
  • Ensure the proper handling of all samples
  • Examine all samples as requested, conducting all necessary tests accurately
  • Provide thorough written evaluation and diagnosis for each case
  • Participate at some level in ongoing research and development
  • Participate in the training/teaching of residents and medical students
  • Work collaboratively with other physicians and laboratory staff
  • Attend all required trainings and conferences
  • Maintain compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times

Pathologist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD) from an accredited university
  • Board Certified Pathologist in good standing
  • Anatomic pathology and cytopathology certification preferred
  • State medical license, valid and in good standing
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience practicing pathology
  • Impeccable work history, exemplifying excellence in the field
  • Commitment to continued study, keeping up to date on the latest research
  • Willingness to continue to develop and hone skills in keeping with the latest techniques
  • Cognizant of patient confidentiality and compliance with all legal requirements
  • Willingness to train and mentor junior staff
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to excellent patient care
