Pathologist Job Summary
We are currently seeking a highly-skilled, experienced pathologist to join our innovative medical team. In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise in the study and diagnosis of disease, primarily in our state-of-the-art laboratory. You will also conduct gross examinations in a surgical setting, as needed. You will play a vital part in ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients and help train the next generation of physicians.
Pathologist Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee cytopathology service department/laboratory
Conduct gross examinations and provide anatomical pathology services as needed
Ensure the proper handling of all samples
Examine all samples as requested, conducting all necessary tests accurately
Provide thorough written evaluation and diagnosis for each case
Participate at some level in ongoing research and development
Participate in the training/teaching of residents and medical students
Work collaboratively with other physicians and laboratory staff
Attend all required trainings and conferences
Maintain compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times
Pathologist Requirements and Qualifications
Medical degree (MD) from an accredited university
Board Certified Pathologist in good standing
Anatomic pathology and cytopathology certification preferred
State medical license, valid and in good standing
Minimum 3 years’ experience practicing pathology
Impeccable work history, exemplifying excellence in the field
Commitment to continued study, keeping up to date on the latest research
Willingness to continue to develop and hone skills in keeping with the latest techniques
Cognizant of patient confidentiality and compliance with all legal requirements
Willingness to train and mentor junior staff
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
