Parts Specialist Job Summary

Our automotive retail and repair shop is looking for a knowledgeable Parts Specialist to join our team. In this role, your primary job is to maintain our in-store inventory based on the most common service needs of our customers, and order out-of-stock items through our wholesale suppliers as needed. You provide estimates on the cost of parts to customers before ordering them and complete detailed purchase orders so that we can reconcile our accounts with external suppliers once the parts are delivered. Our ideal candidate has experience with automotive repair and a working understanding of various vehicle components.

Parts Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help maintain our parts inventory
  • Locate parts using our computer system
  • Order out-of-stock items
  • Provide cost estimates to potential customers
  • Issue purchase orders to external suppliers
  • Assist with invoicing and payment processing

Parts Specialist Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
  • Industry experience (preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge or repair experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Customer service skills
