Park Ranger Job Summary

We are seeking a Park Ranger to care for and protect our park grounds as well as the visitors who frequent them. In this role, your duties may vary depending on the season, but your primary responsibility is to patrol the park grounds, trails, campgrounds, and other areas to educate guests and enforce safety regulations and rules. You may also work in the visitor’s center, give tours, and take part in search and rescue missions. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a field related to environmental science or recreation or equivalent experience and skills.

Park Ranger Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patrol various areas included in the park grounds
  • Enforce safety rules of the park
  • Answer visitors' questions and help ensure their safety
  • Educate visitors and give tours
  • Work in the visitor’s center to provide information to visitors
  • Help with search and rescue missions

Park Ranger Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental recreation or science, recreation and tourism management, earth science, forestry, or a related field
  • Experience working or volunteering for state or federal designated lands (if no degree)
  • Knowledge of forestry a plus
  • Ability to complete a training course upon being hired
  • Willingness to submit to a background check and medical examination
  • Valid driver's license
