Promote healthy eating and lifestyle habits
Meet with and interview clients to understand their current nutritional and health habits
Inform, advise, and dispense nutritional information to clients
Create tailored and detailed meal plans in accordance with client's needs and taste preferences
Be empathetic and understanding of the client's nutritional challenges and counsel them on how to make beneficial changes
Be aware and act accordingly if a client has any food-drug interactions, food allergies and/or cost restrictions when formulating a nutritional plan
Follow-up with patients, review progress and help keep them on track with the nutritional plan you’ve set forth
Document patients’ progress, setbacks, and overall results; organize and maintain patient files
Follow all nutritional laws and regulations
Continually conduct research in the nutritional sciences field, read articles and journals, and attend conferences regularly
Stay abreast of current and latest nutritional findings and implement this material into your work
Nutritionist Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in dietetics, nutrition, public health, or related field; master’s preferred
